My company wants people to be able to call them for nothing. It is willing to pay for this and at present has an 0800 number but, of course, 0800 numbers are not free from mobile phones - in fact they don't even come out of 'bundled' minutes so you have to pay on top of your monthly fee to phone one!
Why do mobile operators not offer a 'freephone' service (apart from helplines)? Does anyone know why they don't offer this service? My company can't be the only one that would pay for it! -------------------- He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Because it costs the Mobile operator to handle the 0800 calls.
I don't know of any company that offers freecall number for mobile user. -------------------- - Tony Sutton

My company has no problem paying for the service - but as you say, no one seems to operate it!
