Alert from Norton when accessing Modaco?? |

Hi Paul,
I've started getting security warnings from Norton Internet Security this morning when viewing any pages on Modaco (no other websites). The alert refers to "HTTP Malicious Toolkit Variant Activity" and it originates from "search-you-need.com - 55.65.234.77:80". Not quite sure what is happening but could you shed any light on this? Very strange!

you are using norton...what do you expect? they rarely get anything right

All of a sudden - today - every page I open on Modaco (or Mobiholics) I get the same alarm - there's got to be something in it as all other sites I visit don't bring up these alarms... -------------------- Gadgets:

Not always which is why I stopped using the bloatware.
My daughter's pc was plagued with trojans etc turning it into an email zombie that norton could not even detect. Turned to OneCare and it sorted it out. Will never go back to Norton again. It seems whatever it was Paul has sorted it as the alerts have stopped.

I'm normally the first person to shout at people who even mention Norton. That being said both the 2008 and new 2009 versions of internet security are now supposedly up there with the best of them in terms of detection and speed! Now, I found that very difficult to swallow but check out these test results:

http://www.av-comparatives.org For the past 3 years NOD32 has been the overall winner. However this year coming in from the left field is Avira. I've been testing Avira on my machine and it's brilliant. Catches stuff, lightweight, non intrusive. My only problem is that I get Kapersky Internet Suite free with 3 licenses from Barclays online banking. ------- |
