I've been trying, and failing, for the last few days to try and convert a music video to play on the 808. Can anyone recommend a program or some coding settings? Was so easy to do on the SPV, seems a shame I can't take advantage of the HUGE screen on the NEC! Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. biggrin.gif

2 ways to go about it.

Get hold of Nokia Multimedia Converter and use that to convert pretty much any video files to .3gp format. It doesn't give you much control over quality of the video that is encoded but it does the job.

The other way is to get Quicktime Pro 6.3 and download the 3gp plug from apple. This will then let you export any movie that quicktime can play to .3gp format. You get full control over the quality of the video and the sound, though quicktime is a bit temperamental as to which types of files it will play. If anyone could point me in the direction of a DivX plugin for quicktime I'd appreciate it. Quicktime also doesnt seem to recognise all audio tracks (muxed ones in mpeg and mp3 audio with avis in particular) which is a bit wierd but a quick bit of re-encoding with virtualdub soons puts that right.

The Animatrix looks fantastic on the 808's screen and Traffic is very watchable even if you can't see the subtitles on the spanish bits. Shame the audio over the headset isnt a bit louder, wonder how high i can whack up the gain on encoding before it sounds horrible.

Anyway, let me know how you get on, I'm trying to work out what the best settings for the audio/video are.
