Hi, has anyone tried to get o2 to match the 1gb monthly allowance given by t-mobile (via web 'n' walk)?, it dwarfs the naff 200mb given by the o2 internet bolt on.
Also, is connection to the EDGE network locked to the iphone or can any edge capable phone use it? (my phone is not 3g, but does have edge) Thanks! This post has been edited by dijital: Mar 3 2008, 12:25 |

(my phone is not 3g, but does have edge) Thanks! o2 removed any fair usage policy on their unlimited data tariffs over a month ago now . Also if you have an edge capable phone whether it is 3g or not it will work on Edge where availble, and with o2 heavily committed to the iphone then anyone with an Edge capable 2g handset will certainly benefit from the edge rollout -------------------- Unlimited download Home Broadband, at upto 20Mbps for £7.50 per month, BT line required. pm me to find out more.

Unfortunately O2 seem to be limiting consumers to 120kbs so I doubt if you could download more than 200MB in a month anyway!

the 120kbps restriction is not accurate at all. used 200mb in a day last week on o2 120kbs refers to the speed, not the amount of data you can download! See alsothis thread. |

120kbs refers to the speed, not the amount of data you can download! See alsothis thread. I understand the difference, i was merely answering two of your points, one the speed is not restricted to 120kbps and the fact that I have downloaded 200mb in a day indicates a faster speed than 120kbs, which means it is possible to go over that amount also in a month quite easily. I understand that my data usage is very heavy, but it just goes to shows that it is completely unrestricted on o2 |

Did you need to get anything activated on your account - if so what specifically? As you may have seen, a number of us do appear to be restricted to the 120kbs (despite trying at various different times in various excellent reception areas.) -------------------- ----------------------------------

Can anyone enlighten me?
The 120kbps restriction ? 120kbps as in 15k/sec (68 seconds a megabyte) or as in 120k/sec (10 seconds for a megabyte)? Thanks |
