During the month of July any customer Connecting, upgrading, or just changing to any animal plan thats £35+ will recieve unlimited anytime data for free!
The unlimted data comes with a fairly hefty fair use policy of 500mb, so is perfect for them data hungry 3G devices!
This bundle is not weekend only or last for 2 months or any pants like that!

It works that the original plan must of been £35, it doesnt matter if you recieve a £5 discount for been a web/telesales customer and only pay £30

Come on, I'm too nice to, so who wants to be the first to laugh that quote to death...?

Classic - 500mb equals "fairly hefty" ?

OMG...

*lol*

EDIT to OP - still a nice heads up though, cheers, even if the data fair use limit is a long standing joke figure...

Well its free, no charge unlike the other networks.
How many people would actually use more than 500mb on their handset, unless they intended to use it as a modem???

Er, I bought a 3G handset with the specific intention of using it as a modem from time to time.

I also don't believe that there's no other limit on their "unlimited" deal. Orange just aren't like that. It'll be "off peak only", or "only for Orange websites", or "only for 2 minutes at a time, reconnect to avoid charges" or some such stupidity.

I was chatting to a guy at work yesterday and telling him that Google Maps worked without a GPS receiver to find your location but he said he couldn't download it as he had reached his limit and couldn't download any more data until the 11th - he is with Three and his limit is 1Gb.

He is a Muslim and so doesn't even download Porn! He does, however watch a lot of YouTube and often reaches his 1Gb limit.

500Mb is enough for most people though and Free is a good price wink.gif

It is defiantly a step in the right direction and a good move on O's behalf though. When are they going to offer a bundle at a reasonable price to those on lower price plans though?

I still have to pay for my data which is why I have to pay nearly £21/month for Flext35 + W'n'W Plus...

I recently heard of other networks offering this too, such as T-Mobile themselves, but this is due to it being offered with a certain budget handset, so to offset the "budgetness" of the handset, the tariff comes with hefty reductions including free WnW

As for how many would use this amount - a LOT more than you would think. Quite simply me for one, knowing what I currently use on T-Mobile.

Finally, yes it is great that it is free. But it still misses the point.

If I want to add it as say for example, an existing customer, and am happy to pay for UNLIMITED data with Orange, what will I get...? Yup 500MB only.

Or even if I wanted to pay slightly more for a better allowance, more realistic to my needs, what could I get...? Yup, 500 MB for no possible extra money, as this is all they really offer on the Unlimited data front.

So the SPIRIT of this is excellent.

It's merely the implementation that is lacking, rest assured.

But notwithstanding any of this, if O's new fair use/unlimited data allowance is now 500MB, that is now better than Voda, who were 100 to 200 MB last I recall?

It's still not a REALISTIC practical level for the vast majority however...?

Voda now have 500Mb free on all their tariffs (which the increased by £5/month when the introduced this 'Free' data)

Voda charge per meg if you go over the limit - so some pople have run up very large bills
Three send you a text telling you not to use any more datya or they will cut you off.
T-Mob ask you not to go over again and if you go over two months on the trot they will throttle your download speeds but wont cut you off or charge you.

What is Orange's FU policy?

Thanks, although 500Mb is more than enough for most people what happens if you stray over makes a difference - if they get a bill for a few grand like some people have on voda, people hear about it!

Terms and conditions state that constant abuse of the bundle may result in it been removed.
Doesnt say anything about reverts to normal charges afterwards

Reports are starting to come in that this is a JULY 08 promo. The tariffs that will include the data are going to be £40+ (£35+web)
If customers wish to add a data bundle below this section a wonderfull bundle has been brought in to replace the £8 for 30mb to £7.50 for 250meg! dry.gif

Is the £5 web bundle on £35 + plans still 500Mb?
While £7.50 for 250Mb is a vast improvement over £8 for 30Mb, 250Mb is NOT ENOUGH
O are moving in the right direction but they are moving slower than the others and no o ne else discriminates against lower users with either higher prices or lower limits.
It is a pity that the current offers are July08 only - I guess if you want it you should rush out and get it, some people have got some VERY good deals (but I still think 500Mb is too low)

Are you saying that after July it will be on £40+ tariffs, because right now it is on £35 tariffs?

The way I read it is that it will be a wb add on costing £5 for 500Mb (I believe) on tariffs costing £35 or more and £7.50 for 250Mb on lower priced tariffs.
