Just wondering if it's regarded as bad form to post the same question to several sites concerned with the same subject matter?

For example, I've just posted a query here re the content of certain nand partitions on Hero; would posting the same question in a suitable place on xda-developers' forums be considered unacceptable?

If it is a completely different site then technically no problem but some people who visit both sites may not like seeing the same post twice.
It is only bad practise when you make the same post on the same site in different sections.
