Yep, WiFi, Bluetooth, webcam etc still works great.

You will need to upgrade to the latest version of the System Control Manager (SCM) which you can download from MSI:

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=do...mp;prod_no=1474

Once installed, upgrade the BIOS to MSI Wind v1.09.

Then boot to BIOS and change the % of the overclock. You get three choices which are 8%, 15% and 24%. Start with 8% and boot to XP. Press FN + F10 keys and you will get the "Turbo ON" logo coming up.

See how it behaves. Bump it up to 15% and then finally 24%.

One thing to be aware of is this overclocking only works when there is a power plugged in to the netbook. When the Turbo mode is enabled, the power button turns into orange. Blue is for normal speed and green is Eco Mode (power saving).

If you want to have the most out of the CPU, then yeah I'd recommend the MSI Wind's BIOS. Have been using it for a few weeks at 24% overclock with no issue.

Looks like they have removed it from their website. But when it was on there, I downloaded, installed and it worked for me.

I have now since gone with the MSI Wind's version of the BIOS v1.09 which allowed me to overclock the CPU - works great.

If you're still using the XP that came with it, you will need to reactivate it as XP sees it as new hardware. But after it, no issue at all.

Been all over Orange's lame website to find out how to renew and I can't find it!

I've registered my interest too - just because there's a draw taking place. biggrin.gif

The only thing I'm looking forward to is for anyone to write program easily due to the fact that it's open source (well, kinda!)

I'm not as my contract is not due yet, but with the USA getting it around 22nd Oct while UK's getting it around 30th Oct - has anyone preordered it yet?

Excited about it? What are one (or two) things that you are looking forward to with the G1? And why?

Discuss away. biggrin.gif

Google Map car got me AGAIN yesterday afternoon, around 5pm! biggrin.gif

This time, it was leaving Gypsy Lane, going toward the roundabout, which I think they was heading toward UEA.

So I will need to find myself when the photos are online. smile.gif

T-Mobile sells over 1.5 million G1 Android phones

It's good to see a nice & healthy figure for the T-Mobile's G1 where they have sold 1.5 million units so far. And it's not even been released yet!

QUOTE(jkontherun)
Word is now out that over 1.5 million units have been sold, and that before anyone in that big crowd has even seen a G1 in person. That tells you how excited people are getting over Android. Add 2 million units that are reported to hit retail stores this month to that 1.5 million in sales and the G1 could be even bigger than that fruity phone

I think it's amazing they have achieved it... but only if the figures are true as the figured were from rumour/word of mouth and as far as I can see, has not been confirmed by T-Mobile.

Either way, I look forward to play one of these phone.

Are you one of thoses who pre-ordered the G1? Will the G1 be overhyped like we saw with Apple's iPhone 3G?

DivX Mobile Player Released!

I was looking to download DivX Player for my PC and came across this post which mentions DivX Mobile Player for Windows Mobile and Symbian. While I know this has been around for a while, this is the first time I've heard of so I thought I'd get the word out! biggrin.gif

QUOTE(DivX Labs)
DivX Video on Your Phone Want DivX video-on-the-go? You've come to the right place. There are two main ways to play DivX video on your mobile phone. You can either purchase a DivX Certified Mobile Phone or download the DivX Mobile Player.

So if your phone is not a DivX Certified Mobile Phone then this is what you need to get your phone to play DivX files.

Here are the download links:

Windows Mobile 5 or later including:
Windows Mobile 5 (Smartphone & PocketPC)
Windows Mobile 6 (Standard, Classic & Professional)

Symbian OS 9.0 or later including:
Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition
Symbian OS UIQ 3.0

Have you got it installed? Does it play good on your phone?

Your user icon is showing USA flag, which means it will not work for you as the settings above is for UK settings.

However if you're from UK (or visiting UK), then the "GPRS Internet service" should work for you for WnW. Please niote, the details above is a bit old as this was posted in 2005.

See http://www.mobiholics.com/content/t-mobile...obile-settings/ for the latest information

Keep it coming, people. And thanks for your comments.

I admit I don't have a Symbian phone, but assuming it's the same as Orange branded WM where you have to decert the phone before you can install it?

Does one exists for Symbian?

I'm deaf so I don't think it would work. wink.gif

From this morning up until now, they've called me 5 times already.

I am now at work, so will ask a workmate to answer for me when they rings again!
