Sounds good ..... but with true wireless broadband becoming a reality and a new generation of Internet Enabled phones on their way, which may (finally!) take Smart phones in to the mainstream ..... I think 500Mb will quickly become very limiting ..... hopefully T-Mob will fight back by offering a £5 WnW package with a FUP of 5Gb !! |

Banning VOIP is a major PITA !! Am now wondering whether this "Pro" version is actually worth it for purely phone users ?? WnW "Standard" ___________ WnW "Pro" £7.50 per month ____________ £10 per month 18 mth contract on FlexT ______ 24 mth contract Modem usage banned ________ Modem usage allowed Internet Streaming banned ____ Internet Streaming allowed ?? P2P banned ________________ P2P allowed ?? VOIP banned _______________ VOIP banned FUP of 1 Gb ?? ______________ FUP of 2 Gb ?? _______________________ 12 months WIFI free I'm still not sure how T-mobile would know what you are using bandwidth for ..... maybe you could get away with some of the stuff they don't want you to do as long as you are careful and stay within FUP ?? Overall, the Pro version has turned out to be a bit of an anti-climax !! |

Sorry Dude !! Found your original post ...... nice work !! Time to set the concerns of Web N Walk lovers at rest! The Pro version is almost with us and the information regarding the FUP and usage is now available from T-Mobile (just give them a call and they can confirm any of the information listed here) - this should hopefully put to an end the rumours a few people have started with regard to "top secret documents". Availability is scheduled for April 18th, but at this point it will only be available to corporate customers (this does not include business accounts). It will be available to Business and Consumer customers as of May 1st. The features of the 'Professional' bundle are: Unlimited e-mail and browsing from laptop or any device. Send large files and attachments. 6 times faster connection than standard 3G - free upgrade to HSDPA when it becomes available later this year - allowing 1.6mb/s down. Use any internet based application. 12 months WIFI hotspot access free. Available as a Data Only contract for £19.98 inc VAT monthly. Available built into a Flext plan, on 24 month contracts only. Available as a bundle with any price plan, for £10.00 inc VAT monthy (you do NOT have to have the standard WNW bundle as well). FUP: T-Mobile defines fair use as total UK data use (both sent and received) of up to 2GB per month. T-Mobile may contact customers who exceed this volume of data in two (or more) consecutive months in any six month period to ask them to reduce their usage. If usage is not reduced, notice may be given, after which network protection controls may be applied which will result in a reduced speed of transmission. Use of Voice Over Internet Protocol and Messaging Over Internet Protocol is prohibited by T-Mobile. If use of either or both of these services is detected T-Mobile may terminate all contracts with the customer and disconnect any SIM cards and/or web 'n' walk cards from the T-Mobile network. You may notice that the policy does seem to contradict itself a little, by stating you can use any internet based application - and then stating that VOIP and MOIP (a developing technology) is not allowed I expect clarification will be available once it goes live. Hope this is of some help! |
