Yeah, I drive a Land Rover Freelander V6. The car tax is painful and so is the petrol, but I love my car very much and I don't want to change it, so I'll put up with the expense. I wouldn't recommend one to someone choosing a new car now though, and the fuel consumption is much better than you'd get on an old Range Rover. Alison |

Got mine at the Apple Store at the Trafford Centre last night. No waiting, plenty of stock. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the whole process, including me choosing a case, took less than 30 minutes. They even put the case on the phone for me and I walked out with a working iPhone 3G. Can't wait to get our games on it - not too much longer to wait on that! Alison |

Him indoors got his iPhone from CPW yesterday, having ordered it last Friday online. They apologised for the delay in getting it to him and have given him £20 credit in the Carphone online store to say sorry. Maybe he can buy a case or something! Alison |

Updated my iPod touch to 2.0 firmware and the apps are great - there are a few things that I'm getting that I've used before on WM and Palm - for instance it's great to have my eReader books back on a screen that's large enough to make reading fun again. Facebook app is good. I downloaded iPint, which is stupid but fun - a perfect show & tell pub app! I picked up a couple of games which are fun until our own Astraware ones are released in a few weeks. The only downside is that I only have the connectivity when I'm in range of wi-fi, and that's where the iPod touch lacks in comparison. I want to be able to do this stuff everywhere - and for that I need an iPhone! A. |

Nope. Queued at the O2 store from 7.30-9.30am on the premise that we were the next people in line who 'might' get one. Then O2's entire system went down and they started handing them out to people without credit checks, so then there was no chance of getting one. I'll wait for a bit and see what happens. Alison |

You could do what I did with T-Mobile, renew your contract but not take a phone from them. I got £15 per month credit for not taking a new phone. The saving you make could go toward buying you whichever new phone you really want SIM free. |

Hi, I've just spoken to T-mobile retentions dept to negotiate a better deal for myself. My contract has already expired. I'm currently on Flext 25 WnW, HSDPA enabled. I had already bought a sim free HTC TyTN II, so don't want or need a new phone. After about 45 mins on the phone, I had agreed to Flext 20 , 6 months FREE internet access with 10,000 mins Eve and Wknd Calls. After 6 months I have to add a WnW package. Now, before the new tariff was applied, I asked the CSR to check that HSDPA would be enabled on the new contract. She couldn't find it on her list, so spoke to technical. She came back with the news; HSDPA is not available on Flext 20. Minimum tariff is Flext 25, and HSDPA is added automatically. Bummer. So I bumped it up to Flext 25 to get HSDPA. To be honest, it feel like I'm paying an EXTRA fiver to get decent internet speeds. I've got 7 days cooling off..in which time I'm going to be seriously looking at the 3 network. Has anyone succeeded in getting HSDPA on Flext 20? FrankyG When I renewed last year there was no Flext20+Web & Walk Plus bundle, but the guy who did my renewal made Flext20 my tarriff and then added W&W Plus as an add-on. That was the only way their system would do it. There is still some debate (above) as to whether you need W&W Plus to get HSDPA or whether it's just available to all W&W customers. I wanted W&W Plus anyway because I use my phone as a modem for my Macbook. Hope this helps! |

My phones got a lovely new expensive Marc Jacobs handbag to ride around in! It's got one main section and then an extra zip section on the bottom which is dead useful for charging cables, spare batteries and my Proporta Mobile Device charger! |

Similar thing at www.maczot.com - an offer a day. If you sign up they send you an email with that day's offer. They seem to be getting a few good casual games offers lately as well as utilities, which is good for people with Macs as family computers. |

Compatibility? How does the fact I can run Windows applications in Mac OS X under either darwine or Crossover stand for compatibility? I'd like to see Windows run Mac applications And I do use my Mac as a computer perfectly well in Mac OS X, iWork for word processing, spreadsheets etc. Mail for, well, email Infact the only thing I really use Windows for is ROM flashing and editing etc... Phil I second everything Phil has said. As I said before, I'd been strictly Windows until last year. Never touched a Mac before then. I absolutely love it. I also find that some of the things I want to do with a home computer, for instance editing a video I've shot and uploading to You Tube, is MUCH easier on a Mac. You connect your video camera import the video and then just click and drag to move and edit stuff around, insert menus and transitions etc. I only did this for the first time a couple of weeks back, and have no professional video editing experience, and yet the vids I made have been complimented by loads of people. One even asked if I do it professionally. That's simply all down to the ability of iMovie, which ships free with the Mac! |

I got my first Mac (a 12" Powerbook G4) 18 months ago, just before the new Intel Macs started to appear. Since then I've added a Mac Mini as a media centre and an iMac as our main home desktop machine. I've not looked back. I only had Windows experience prior to getting my Mac and found out what I needed to know by trial and error, but if you're seriously considering it, book an appointment at your nearest Apple store - they have simple Genius Bar sessions where you can ask questions, group or one-to-one training sessions, and particularly sessions for people who are new to Macs. Each Apple store website has a list of times and sessions too. If you book a one-to-one they can tailor it to your level of computer knowledge. If you're in any doubt as to whether to get one, then the support you can get at an Apple store is a great safety net. Alison |

I've just re-signed with T-Mo for another 18 months. They were, once again, very accommodating. I didn't want an expensive FlexT tarriff as I don't call or text that much, but I wanted Web & Walk Plus for email and web. Flext 20 and W&W+ aren't offered as a package, so they just swapped me to Flext20 and put W&W+ on as a bundle. I didn't upgrade my phone, so I got a discount for that too. T-Mo are fab! |

For ringtones, the Treo 680 uses MIDI, but you can also add MP3s if you add some extra software - there are a few, but I've tried a free one called Minitones (you'll need to do a search at mytreo.net) which allows you to edit and add mp3s into the ringtone database. For games you can buy them direct from the developer and then Hotsync them to your device, or if the developer has a Mobile version of their store you can get games via your Treos web browser. Alternatively you should check Mobihand.com, who power the Mobiholics FairDeal store as they also have Palm OS software and games. Hope this helps. |

It won't necessarily be bad. Some of us who have gone to Mac from years of PC usage have made the very sensible choice to include firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware software on our Macs. The virus and trojan writers might not have caught up yet, but when they do, at least I'll be prepared. |

I had the half price line rental deal with W&W and was told that when my contract ends, providing I don't upgrade my phone, then my line rental will stay at half price permanently. That's the point at which I'll be buying SIM free handsets! |

Love The Hamster! The team just wouldn't be the same without him. Was lucky enough to get to go to the filming of Top Gear about 3 years ago and all of the team are brilliant - really approachable and happy to chat. They even queue up with the rest of the audience during the tea break. Hope he's going to be OK. |

I've recently done a hard reset on my Vario and not installed the extended T-Mobile ROM. Pocket MSN with MSN Messenger is still there, so it looks like it's a standard part of the Windows Mobile ROM. |
