Last time I wanted a new contract with t-mob I ported the number to Virgin Mob PAYG and then back to the new t-mob contract All worked fine, and took a few days for each port. - only cost was the cost of the virgin sim card (about £5 I think) |

6:6:6 6th June... hm... Will the world end according to timezone - so New Zealand and the far East perish first, and then oblivion jumps to each timezone in the next hour until the entire world exists no more.... or will the entire world use our (obviously correct) timezone to measure their annihilation? |

Theres quite a few proxy services out there - a few other ones: http://www.proxify.com http://www.the-cloak.com Although any decent network admin would probably block well known proxies such as these too... |

I didn't know anyone was going to die in this book before I started reading, and when it turned out to be Dumbledore it didnt shock me anywhere near as much as the last book - it was just "ok shes started killing main characters and its another one, blah blah blah. Basically anyone who could be Harrys father figure seems to be fair game. X1- Black (most obvious father figure) X2- Dumbledore (again most obvious father figure) X3- whoever turns out to be the most obvious parental figure this time - my guess would be Mrs Weasly very disappointing as it seems to be simply aimed at tear jerking these last couple of books. I'll still get and read the last one when it comes out though, as the writing style is very compelling. |

I'm quite tempted to get one and set it up as a media centre. theres 6 Mac minis at work, and they are tiny! Mac OS X is the ultimate n00b operating system - easier than windows to learn by a long way. Only real problem with macs are a) cost - Mac mini is cheap in comparison so this is addressed c) upgradability - some upgrades are only supposed to be performed at apple approved service centres, and they dont make it easy to do stuff yourself. I'd say it depends what you want to use it for. If its gaming then stear clear. Other uses though the mac might do you nicely and look great too... |

Thanks, Unfortunately we dont have a good phpBB database to import, so its going to be a fresh start (the reviews we can recover at least - which was the main part of the site anyway) Enough of phpBB anyways. Invision is the way forward! |

Was a phpBB exploit. It was patched almost up to date, so they must have used the very recent one. If anyone else is running a phpBB based site I would advise patching to 2.0.12 NOW. Anyway we've moved to invision now. The database is gone, and the backup was unfortunately overwritten automatically. We will replace all the reviews from local copies, but it will take some time, as they will all need to be properly formatted etc. Makes you ask the question why though. Some twisted little kiddie with nothing better to do than find than read up on the latest exploits and then find a community site full of peoples hard work and trash it. |

Hm, not my day today. http://www.smartgamer.org I'll post more when I've been able to talk with David, but for now I've taken down the mainpage until we've had a chance to restore the db (and find out how much has been lost....) |

Only the covers are different as far as I'm aware. Get whichever one you like - the content will be the same. |

I find http://www.w3schools.com an invaluable code reference. For tutorials why not try: http://www.codefixer.com/tutorials/index.asp - was quite handy for me when I was starting out... Of course there are plenty of prebuilt ASP shopping carts you could just download I spose... |

QUOTE(J273 @ Mar 15 2005, 21:43) So do you know if zen have plans on updating there connections say 512 to 1meg service in the future or not,as i dont have any problems with zen at all just that im paying the same as my mate whose on a 2 meg connection and im on 512 also is the 1meg connection from zen i think its £29 capped at all,Thanks Not at present as far as I know (I cant say much about the future). Zen isnt really aiming to be the cheapest ISP out there, rather the philosophy is to provide simple high quality uncapped broadband services backed by first rate support (and I do actually believe that) If you are a light user who doesnt care much about the support offered if something goes wrong, then you might save money with one of the myriad of providers offering capped products. |

Dont forget a lot of ISPs count the cap as total data transferred, so probably include upstream traffic in that cap too. So if you use P2P apps or download a lot of game demos, listen to streaming media, run a game server on your connection etc etc you could find it uses a lot of data! As I work for Zen if you're on a Zen I can find out how much data you've transferred in the last month (ish) if you let me know your username in a PM. (well actually I can find out how much data you've used in a session - so if you've been continously connected since eternity I can't tell you anything!) |
