That's disgraceful! I would have thought all he needed to do is to get a police report saying where he'd lost it and send that off. I think that's what they usually ask for anyway. I have Orange Care and had to use it the other week as I dropped my phone. There was no problem and I got a new phone within 48 hours. They did ask a lot of questions. I told them I dropped it and they asked how I dropped it.

I'm sure Orange have no interview procedure and it would seem very little training. The people I have spoken to before just have no clue about phones or policies. That doesn't apply to all of them before I get some Orange bod moaning at me!

And if you do find such a complaints forum let me know!

Hey amo,

Great-looking site. Two questions, one really stupid (probably) and one curious.

1) On your homepage it displays who is online and you've also got a site survey there. How did you do that?

2) Under 'Downloads' are you accepting music made by dabblers like myself? Just getting to grips with making some music on my PC you see. Nothing ready yet, but almost.

Oh and 3) (weren't expecting that one, were you?!) Are RetroNet good? Any problems?

Cheers Amo. Just off to rip all your code! I'm joking!!!!

Heh, sorry for the severe lack of feedback everyone. Went out last night and I'm ashamed to say at the end of it I couldn't have even told you what a server was! Now, back to business. I have spent the last hour deliberating over your ideas, some of them inspiring, some interesting, and some downright rude! You know who you are mcwarre!! laugh.gif I have come to a decision and as much as I would have liked to use the names of all the Thundercats or the firemen from Camberwick Green (or was it Trumpton?), I have to choose slightly more professional names so that people don't realise I actually don't do any work and spend all my time on here or in Costa Coffee.

Therefore, it gives me great pleasure to announce the winner and that winner is........

JLOWAP! Well done, you win absolutely nothing! Actually, I took pity on you for trying so hard in the logo competition that I thought I'd give you a break. I'm joking!!

These are the names of the new servers:

1. Neon
2. Argon
3. Krypton
4. Xeon
5. Radon

Thanks everyone. You've been really helpful. No, really I mean it!

PS. I think this is my 50th message. Does that mean I get to be a Regular?! Do I? Huh? Huh?

Star Trek...hmmmm..Not bad Captain. The other one I thought of was from the Matrix. Neo, Morpheus, Trinity etc, etc. Blimey, I think I've just won my own competition! Only joking!

Good Afternoon!

I have just been given a project at work to build 5 servers and with that I get the heady responsibility of deciding what they are to be called. At the moment we name all our servers after Greek gods, but I think we need a change! Besides, I'm sick of telling the Helpdesk how to spell Dionysus all the bleeding time! laugh.gif

So, get your thinking hats on. Yeah, yeah, you want to know about the prizes don't ya? I have to admit there are no prizes, I'm sorry. Oh what would you lot want with prizes anyway?! From reading the boards I've learnt you've all got more money than sense and whatever I gave away you'd probably end up opening up, tinkering with it, and then trying to sell it to the Japanese! wink.gif

OK, the remit is to think of 5 names (less than 10 characters each) keeping to a theme, but not Greek Gods.

On your marks, get set go! I said go!

Well, go on then!

Functions:

No.4. Handphone sanitizing

I mean really, does anyone's phone really get THAT dirty? All I can think of is one of those toilets you get in some highstreets that nobody ever uses in case they get trapped inside or don't get out before it starts its self-cleaning routine...

Or is that just me?? laugh.gif

Helllloooooo!!

Yeah, there aren't many of us around! I think Paul was going to do some stats on how many women are on the forum.

What I want to know is how many female users have bothered to decert their phone and installed software etc. I can't imagine many going for the SPV on looks alone when they can have a nice pink Nokia in their handbag - god, that sounds like a double entendre if ever I heard one! laugh.gif

I'll get my coat....

Definitely against war, not all war, but definitely this one. What was the big rush to deploy troops when the inspectors were making steady progress? I remember reading somewhere that Congress made a big joke out of Hans Blix and a lot of them regarded him as too 'soft' to take on his role. Before the war started, he seemed to be the only one making any sense. Iraq is a big country, over twice the size of the UK. Of course they needed more time to inspect the factories and plants, but Bush would not listen as he already knew what the agenda was. Yes, Saddam and his regime should be removed, but given more time and the support of the Security Council perhaps there was an alternative to war and the death of innocent people.

Personally, I don't believe the reasons given to us for why we are at war. Bush & Blair LTD do not care about the Iraqi people and they certainly don't care if Saddam uses chemical weapons on them. I'd be surprised if he even has any just like I'd be surprised if it was really Bin Laden who had anything to do with 911 - oops did I really say that?

I do believe however, that now we are engaged in war we should support the men and women that are endangering, and have already given their lives for this unnecessary exercise.

After lengthy talks with your lawyer, I have decided to send you all my Computer for Schools vouchers (sum total of 4). My calculations conclude that you should be able to buy the computer of your choice in the year 3014. I think that's fair. Oh and in order to qualify for this 'special' offer you need to turn up in person with your vouchers and in your school uniform! tongue.gif

Christ, I'm bored. I think I'll go and run off another logo while the boss isn't looking!

Thought I'd have another go. Didn't spend a hell of a lot of time on this, but I tried to think of something that wouldn't date and all I could think of was hands, although they'll be out of date soon the way things are going! smile.gif

Let me know what you think.
