The ROKR E1 is just a slightly upgraded E398 (a phone released over a year ago). Even in non-smartphone terms it's very out-dated. It's a very cheap-looking and ugly phone too. It looks like they rushed it to market as quickly as they could.

$249 on a 2 year contract seems like a lot of money too.

I don't think WMA is at fault, it's lack of support, there's no reason why other manufacturers can't add support aswell (the Pioneer head unit in my car supports WMA and MP3 icon_biggrin.gif). WMA gives better quality at lower bit rates....fact. DRM is optional if you're ripping your own CDs, i don't know about purchased music.

WMA is bloated, inefficient and proprietary. You'd be much better off with AAC.

AAC is an internationally recognised standard and is supported by almost all modern devices that will play MP3s (mobile phones, DVD players, portable music players including iPods, PSP, etc). It also has superior sound quality to both WMA and MP3.

So far I've got:

Wipeout Pure (excellent)
Tony Hawks Underground 2 (fair)
Wayne Gretsky's Hockey (poor)

and Spiderman 2 on UMD.

Now that it's officially released in the UK, I'll probably buy Hotshots Golf and Virtua Tennis. Looking forward to GTA and Pro Evo. smile.gif

Generally Macs have far better aesthetics than PCs, both in terms of hardware and GUI design. They mainly appeal to people who value the form as well as function (i.e. not your typical geek). Generally Macs are very well integrated and easier to use and maintain than PCs.

They're used extensively for graphic design and music work.

There's a Mac-equivelent for most PC software these days and Microsoft even make a version of Office for Macs (often cited as the "killer app" for Windows). The only area where it's really let down is games. Some of the bigger titles are released for MacOS but there's still big gaps in its catalogue.

Personally, I own a PC but I do see the attraction of Macs.

Talk to your operator. They're legally oblidged to unlock your phone for a small (~£20) fee.

That's about the only legal way to do it.

I believe that WordPress is widely regarded as the most powerful blogging software around.

It's got tonnes of features and literally takes 2 minutes to set up. However, you'll need mySQL and PHP support to use it.

Well, it can be only a matter of time and it could possibly happen during early 2006.

Already announced we have:

Samsung i300: 3GB HD, candybar form-factor, GPRS, Bluetooth 1.1 - no 3G, no WiFi, QVGA screen
Nokia N91: 4GB HD, candybar form-factor, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 - low res screen
PalmOne Life Drive: 4GB HD, PDA form-factor, Bluetooth 1.1, WiFi, 320x480 pixel display - not a phone

So we're getting close. smile.gif

I believe the Snake game pre-dates Nokia's 4-digit naming convention.

It was on the 502 (?) or something 5XX at least.
